Baseball Recap: Rockwood Victorious

Rockwood's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against the Windber Ramblers by a score of 3-0. The victory continues a trend for the Rockets in their matchups with the Ramblers: they've now won three in a row.

Davis Bruening was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nathan Show, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Carson Brown, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Rockwood's record is now 8-4. As for Windber, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

Rockwood wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Berlin Brothersvalley on the 25th. As for Windber, they have also already played their next game, a 5-2 loss against Westmont Hilltop on the 26th.
