Softball Recap: St. Brendan's Run of Six Straight Victories Now Over

It was a good run, but St. Brendan unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 7-3 to the Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) Stallions. The Sabres were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Stallions earlier this season, when they won 4-2.

St. Brendan saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabriella Barrueta, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

St. Brendan's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Somerset Academy (Silver Palms), the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.

St. Brendan will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Doral Academy at 6:30 p.m. on April 1st. After both having extra time off, Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) and Palm Beach Gardens will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field one another at 6:00 p.m. on April 3rd. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) 3.9, Palm Beach Gardens 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
