Basketball Game Preview: Andover Central Jaguars vs. Andover Trojans

The Andover Central Jaguars will face off against the Andover Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Andover Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.5 points per game this season.

Andover Central is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Kapaun Mt. Carmel just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Saturday. They lost 67-47 to the Crusaders. The game marked the Jaguars' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Andover Central might have lost, but man, Jayden Brown was a machine: he posted 19 points along with five assists and three steals. Brown has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Jace Jefferson was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, Andover entered their tilt with Southeast on Saturday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Golden Buffalo by a score of 68-57.

The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Andover Central, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Andover Central strolled past Andover in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a score of 70-51. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Andover's Blake Rucker, who went 8 of 15 on his way to 22 points.
