Softball Game Preview: Saguaro Sabercats vs. Arcadia Titans

Saguaro hasn't had much luck against Arcadia recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Sabercats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Titans at 3:45 p.m.

Friday just wasn't the day for Saguaro's offense. They came up short against Chaparral on Friday, falling 10-0. The Sabercats just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Meanwhile, Arcadia had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with an 11-0 win.

Jane Ord and Vivienne Green did most of the damage at the plate: Ord scored two runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5, while Green scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Green a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Evalyn Bowling, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Arcadia hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive contests.

Saguaro's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Arcadia, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7-1.
