Preview: Donoho vs. Westbrook Christian
The Donoho Falcons will head out on the road to challenge the Westbrook Christian Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Donoho kept a clean sheet against Cherokee County. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 5-0 victory. With that victory, Donoho brought their scoring average up to 3.5 goals per game.
They hit Cherokee County with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Erin Turley (2),
ANNA KATE WALLACE (2), and
Samantha Wakefield.
Meanwhile, Westbrook Christian got the win against Sylvania on Friday by a conclusive 3-0.
Donoho's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Westbrook Christian, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Donoho beat Westbrook Christian by a goal when the teams last played back in April of 2022, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Donoho since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
