Basketball Recap: Mayflower's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mayflower can now relate to. They lost 62-37 to the Harding Academy Wildcats on Wednesday. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in February of 2017.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Harding Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mileigh Harlow, who posted eight points along with nine boards and six steals. Harlow is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last 23 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Citty, who shot 54% from the field en route to 18 points and six boards.

Mayflower moved to 17-11 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points over those games. As for Harding Academy, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 23-2.

Mayflower does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Harding Academy, they have already played their next contest, a 55-44 defeat against Pangburn on the 28th.
