Beloit faced Hoisington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Trojans fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 2-1. The Trojans' loss signaled the end of their 11-game winning streak.

Vivian Thompson paced Beloit's offense, picking up seven kills. Thompson got some help from Colbi Stroede and her 19 assists. Mckenna Channell controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Beloit's defeat dropped their record down to 16-3. As for Hoisington, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-3.

Looking ahead, Beloit is taking a road trip to challenge Sacred Heart at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hoisington, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Goodland on the 20th.
