Football Recap: Raymore-Peculiar Comes Up Short

Raymore-Peculiar extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Friday, dropping them down to 0-7. The matchup between the Panthers and the Lee's Summit Tigers didn't end well, with the Panthers falling 31-14. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since October 6, 2017, but that streak is no more.

As for Lee's Summit, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.0 points over those games.

Lee's Summit was led to victory by Karsten Fiene and Drew Benassi. Fiene rushed for 268 yards and three scores while picking up 14.9 yards per carry, while Benassi rushed for 153 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Those 153 rushing yards gave Benassi a new career-high.

Looking ahead, Raymore-Peculiar is taking a road trip to square off against Park Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lee's Summit, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Staley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Falcons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.14 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
