Baseball Recap: Milken Has No Trouble Against Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica

Milken was not the first on the board on Thursday, but they got there more often. They blew past the Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica Seawolves 11-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-1 last Tuesday.

Alex Rosoff made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Elijah Shokrian, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. Milken is 4-1 when Shokrian posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonah Herschko, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Milken has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Milken will welcome Shalhevet at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica, they will be playing at home against Lennox Academy at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
