Preview: Macks Creek Pirates vs. Fair Play Hornets
Macks Creek is 10-0 against Fair Play since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Macks Creek Pirates will look to defend their home court against the Fair Play Hornets at 5:30 p.m. Macks Creek has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 334 points over their last five games.
Macks Creek put the finishing touches on their 17th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They blew past Hermitage 86-15 at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 62-8.
Macks Creek's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Brooklyn Duggan, who scored 17 points along with seven steals and six assists, and India Willis, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Willis is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last five games she's played. Emma Seaholm was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five assists and four steals.
Meanwhile, Fair Play scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Monday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 55-24 victory over Everton. The victory was some much needed relief for Fair Play as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.
Macks Creek's victory bumped their record up to 20-3. As for Fair Play, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-16.
Everything came up roses for Macks Creek against Fair Play in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 66-17 victory. With Macks Creek ahead 50-4 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
