Kaylee Foster made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Josephine Eschleman, who scored three runs while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, Woodcreek earned a 5-2 victory over Vista del Lago on Wednesday.
Maryn Macneil spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Camryn Kelley was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Nicole Fonti was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Woodcreek hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in four consecutive contests.
Woodcreek's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Christian Brothers, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Christian Brothers hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Woodcreek struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
