Softball Recap: Glide Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Glide came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Sutherlin Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. The contest marked the Wildcats' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Glide got a massive performance out of Emma Geiger, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave Geiger a new career-high. Samantha Moyers also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Glide always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Glide pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Sutherlin, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Glide will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
