Baseball Game Preview: Sleepy Hollow Horsemen vs. Pleasantville Panthers

The Sleepy Hollow Horsemen are taking a road trip to square off against the Pleasantville Panthers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Sleepy Hollow made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Irvington, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Horsemen were the clear victors by a 13-7 margin over the Bulldogs on Wednesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Horsemen needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

The team relied heavily on Alexiy Holmes, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three doubles, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Spataro, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Pleasantville had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 9-5 win over Albertus Magnus on Saturday.

Sleepy Hollow's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1. As for Pleasantville, their record now sits at 1-0.

Sleepy Hollow couldn't quite get it done against Pleasantville in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 3-0. Can the Horsemen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
