Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Carleigh Ray and Mckayla Norris Lead Alvarado to Victory

Alvarado was handed a 36-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They had just enough and edged the Life Waxahachie Mustangs out 38-36. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Indians as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Leading Alvarado to victory were Mckayla Norris and Carleigh Ray. Norris dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 boards, while Ray almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Norris has scored at least a third of Alvarado's points.

Alvarado's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-17. As for Life Waxahachie, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-20 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Venus the next time they take the court. Alvarado will head out to face Venus at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while Life Waxahachie will head out to face them at 6:15 p.m. on January 31st.
