Softball Recap: Lafayette Takes a Loss

Lafayette suffered their closest defeat since March 19, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the New Iberia Yellowjackets by a score of 5-3. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellowjackets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Caroline Terro was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Lafayette has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-7-1 record this season. The victory snapped New Iberia's losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 4-11-1 record.

Coming up, Lafayette will take on V.B. Glencoe Charter at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for New Iberia, they will square off against Acadiana at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
