Basketball Game Preview: Yucca Valley Trojans vs. Twentynine Palms Wildcats

The Yucca Valley Trojans will venture away from home to take on the Twentynine Palms Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Yucca Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took an 85-78 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coachella Valley on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Mighty Arabs: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Twentynine Palms was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 71-66 heartbreaker at the hands of Indio. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (61), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.

Twentynine Palms' loss dropped their record down to 7-20. As for Yucca Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-19.

Yucca Valley suffered a grim 78-58 defeat to Twentynine Palms in their previous matchup two weeks ago. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Twentynine Palms' Christopher Grabow, who went 10 for 22 en route to 23 points in addition to eight rebounds and four blocks.
