Football Recap: North Andrew Falls to East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] in First Game of Season

North Andrew unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 20-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 32-12 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2023.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Gavyn Irvine and Tatem M Johnson. Irvine rushed for 154 yards and one TD while M Johnson rushed for 36 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 154 rushing yards gave Irvine a new career-high.

Coming up, North Andrew is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Stewartsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax], they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on St. Joseph Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
