Volleyball Recap: Burlingame Comes Up Short

Burlingame was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Santa Fe Trail Chargers. The Bearcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Chargers from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

While Burlingame was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Santa Fe Trail's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-11, 25-23.

Rilynn Bowman paced Burlingame's offense, picking up five kills. Bowman got some help from Natalee Whitmore and her seven assists. Mckenna Mcfarlane controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Burlingame's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Santa Fe Trail, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-4.

Burlingame has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Olpe on the 23rd. As for Santa Fe Trail, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Osawatomie on the 23rd.
