Baseball Preview: Cumberland Clippers vs. South Kingstown Rebels
Cumberland is 2-8 against South Kingstown since June of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Clippers will head out on the road to take on the Rebels at 4:15 p.m. Cumberland will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Cumberland's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They came out on top against Smithfield by a score of 4-0.
Not much got past Liam Monahan, who gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks to keep Smithfield off the board.
At the plate, Tyler Hurteau was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one run. Josh Lyon was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, South Kingstown earned a 7-3 victory over Cranston West on Friday. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
