Football Recap: KIPP Columbus Jaguars vs. Franklin Heights Falcons

KIPP Columbus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 14-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the Franklin Heights Falcons. The Jaguars gained 79 more yards on the day, but it was the Falcons that made the best use of them.

Tim Gladney threw for 110 yards and one touchdown. Jaysen Quartey was his top target, picking up 66 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Dushun Bosley rushed for 100 yards.

Franklin Heights can attribute much of their success to Dae'Shaun Cowan, who rushed for 74 yards and a pair of TDs.

KIPP Columbus' loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Franklin Heights, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Coming up, KIPP Columbus will head out on the road to square off against Bishop Ready at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Franklin Heights, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Charles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
