Gillespie has gone a perfect 4-0 against Nokomis recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. Gillespie will take on Nokomis at 4:30 p.m. Gillespie's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three matches, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Gillespie came up short against Auburn on Tuesday, falling 9-1. That's two games in a row now that the Miners have lost by exactly eight runs.

Sadie Sholtis was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run. Delaney Taylor also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Nokomis came up short against Pawnee on Tuesday and fell 6-2. The Redskins haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Nokomis saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayde Gonet, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits Gonet has posted since back in May of 2024. Camryn Engelman was another, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Nokomis' defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Gillespie, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Gillespie hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .368. However, it's not like Nokomis struggles in that department as they've averaged .331. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Everything went Gillespie's way against Nokomis in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Gillespie made off with a 13-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gillespie since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
