Baseball Recap: Luling Takes a Loss

Luling came into this matchup off a tough ten-run defeat last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Nixon-Smiley Mustangs by a score of 5-3 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Eagles have suffered since April 19, 2024.

Giovanni Arredondo was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonah Hernandez, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.

Luling dropped their record down to 1-12 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Nixon-Smiley, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-7 record.
