Basketball Game Preview: Brooke Point Black Hawks vs. Riverbend Bears

Brooke Point hasn't had much luck against Riverbend recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Brooke Point Black Hawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Riverbend Bears at 6:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, Brooke Point was beaten by Colonial Forge 64-29. While losing is never fun, the Black Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 310th, while the Eagles are ranked 102nd).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Riverbend, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against Stafford by a score of 55-46 on Tuesday.

Riverbend has also been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Brooke Point, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-10.

Brooke Point suffered a grim 54-30 defeat to Riverbend in their previous matchup back in January. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Brooke Point was down 30-9.
