Baseball Recap: Battle Mountain's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Battle Mountain was handed a ten-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Sierra Lutheran Falcons 3-2. The win was some much needed relief for the Longhorns as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Kail Bengoa looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Battle Mountain's success: when he allows at most two hits the team is 2-1 (and 4-8 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Liam Bundrock was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-1. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 6-9. As for Sierra Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 4-12-1.

Battle Mountain will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
