Basketball Game Preview: Blaine Bengals vs. Elk River Elks

The Blaine Bengals will venture away from home to square off against the Elk River Elks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Blaine knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 17 games -- so hopefully Elk River likes a good challenge.

Blaine came up short against Maple Grove on Friday, falling 90-70. While losing is never fun, the Bengals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Crimson are ranked 34th).

Meanwhile, Elk River was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 53-48 to Centennial. The Elks haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Blaine's loss dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Elk River, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-19.

Blaine came up short against Elk River in their previous meeting on Tuesday, falling 73-66. Can Blaine avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
