Basketball Recap: Abilene Takes a Loss

Abilene lost against Clay Center back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Abilene Cowboys had to suffer through a 58-25 loss at the hands of the Clay Center Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Cowboys can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while the Tigers are ranked 40th).

This is the second loss in a row for Abilene and nudges their season record down to 3-11. As for Clay Center, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3-1.

Coming up, Abilene will head out on the road to take on Rock Creek on Tuesday. As for Clay Center, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Valley Heights on Tuesday. Clay Center has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
