Soccer Game Preview: Aquinas vs. Assumption

The Aquinas Blugolds will take on the Assumption Royals on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Aquinas comes in on six and Assumption on four.

Aquinas is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They never let River Valley get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. Give Aquinas' defense some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.

Meanwhile, Assumption made easy work of Mauston on Saturday and carried off a 7-0 victory. The result was nothing new for Assumption, who have now won six games by four goals or more so far this season.

Aquinas' win bumped their record up to 10-2-2. As for Assumption, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3-1.

Aquinas suffered a grim 11-2 defeat to Assumption in their previous matchup back in April of 2022. Can the Blugolds avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
