Recap: McIntosh Chiefs vs. Harris County Tigers
The McIntosh Chiefs were the 21-17 winner over the Harris County Tigers when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. McIntosh fell 14-6 to Harris County on Friday. While losing is never fun, McIntosh can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 221st, while Harris County is ranked 74th).
Elliott Sturbaum threw for 213 yards and a touchdown. Hollis Davidson was his top target, picking up 78 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Aaron Ajie rushed for 31 yards.
Harris County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mataye Youman out in front who rushed for 163 yards and a touchdown. Ran Ogletree did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 86 receiving yards and a touchdown.
McIntosh has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Harris County, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
McIntosh will head out on the road to face off against Warner Robins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Warner Robins' favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three matches. As for Harris County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ola at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
