The Shelter Island Islanders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 84-41 loss at the hands of Southold. Shelter Island has not had much luck with Southold recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Evan Weslek and Harrison Weslek certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Weslek scored 18 points, while Weslek scored 17 points.

Shelter Island's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Southold, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season.

Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Ross the next time they take the court. Shelter Island will host Ross at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Southold will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
