Baseball Recap: Lourdes Comes Up Short

Lourdes fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Lake City on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by just one run.

Chase Carroll was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-5 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Lourdes and nudges their season record down to 10-9. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Lake City, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5.

As of now, neither Lourdes nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
