Recap: Danville Warriors vs. Gibson Southern Titans

The Danville Warriors and the Gibson Southern Titans squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but sadly the Danville Warriors had to settle for second. The game between them and the Titans wasn't particularly close, with the Warriors falling 63-48. Danville's defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Danville still got an impressive performance from Emma Ancelet, who scored 19 points along with seven assists and two steals. Ancelet hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddy Wethington, who scored 11 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gibson Southern to victory, but perhaps none more so than Paige Schnaus, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Schnaus has scored all season. Gabby Spink was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists.

Danville's defeat dropped their record down to 24-4. As for Gibson Southern, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 19 of their last 20 games, which provided a nice bump to their 25-4 record this season.

Danville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Gibson Southern's road trip will continue as they head out to face Norwell at 6:00 p.m. on February 24th. Norwell has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 461 points over their last seven games.
