Mt. Carmel is 3-0 against Casey-Westfield since September of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Mt. Carmel Golden Aces will head out on the road to face off against the Casey-Westfield Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Mt. Carmel focused on turnovers this week as the team gave up four on Friday.

Mt. Carmel is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 34 points last Saturday, they were much more limited against Richland County on Friday. They took a blow against the Tigers, falling 33-6. The Golden Aces were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.

Mt. Carmel's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Elliott Acree, who rushed for 145 yards, and Jackson Kling, who rushed for 41 yards and a touchdown. Acree's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 109 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Even though they lost, Mt. Carmel was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 260 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 212 rushing yards in five consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Casey-Westfield put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Marshall 42-0 on the road. That 42 point margin sets a new team best for the Warriors this season.

It was another big night for Luke Karras, who rushed for 167 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards.

Casey-Westfield didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Karras, Nicholas Fouty, and Jackson Maulding picked up one apiece.

The defeat snapped Mt. Carmel's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3 record. As for Casey-Westfield, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0.

Saturday's contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Acree and Karras. Acree has put up some stellar numbers this year, and currently owns excellent season averages 138.3 rushing yards per game this season. For his part, Karras has averaged 126 rushing yards per game this season.

Mt. Carmel came out on top in a nail-biter against Casey-Westfield in their previous meeting back in October of 2023, sneaking past 23-20.
