The John F. Kennedy Catholic Eagles will face off against the Cardinal Mooney Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. John F. Kennedy Catholic is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

John F. Kennedy Catholic took a loss when they played away from home last Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Lake Center Christian 12-10. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Kylee Marlatt made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up six earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Samiya Currie was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Ridley, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Cardinal Mooney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 19-1 to Ursuline. The contest marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

John F. Kennedy Catholic's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Cardinal Mooney, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
