Basketball Recap: Cornerstone Christian Academy Starts off Right with Win over Happy Valley

Cornerstone Christian Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 53-42 victory over the Happy Valley Warriors. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

Drew Roop was a one-man wrecking crew as he shot 50% from the field en route to 27 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Witler, who went 5-for-9 on his way to 15 points and three steals.

Cornerstone Christian Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Northwood at 7:00 p.m. on December 2. As for Happy Valley, they have already played their next contest, a 64-43 defeat against Clinton on the 20th.
