Basketball Recap: Southwind Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Southwind challenged Bartlett on Friday. The Southwind Jaguars had to suffer through a 61-15 loss at the hands of the Bartlett Panthers. The Jaguars have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Camille Sanders was Southwind's leading scorer, having posted six points. Sincere Burnett held things down on the boards with four rebounds.

Bartlett found their leader in sophomore Anniya Bailey, who went 5 for 6 en route to 14 points and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bailey has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Samiya Jones, who posted eight points.

Southwind's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Bartlett, they pushed their record up to 13-10 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Southwind has already played their next game (against Germantown), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Bartlett will head out on the road to take on Cordova at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
