The Irene/Wakonda Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Viborg/Hurley Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Irene/Wakonda is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55 points per game this season.

Irene/Wakonda is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. Everything went their way against Freeman Academy/Marion as Irene/Wakonda made off with a 68-47 win. The Eagles not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since January 30th.

Irene/Wakonda's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hayden Hansen, who shot 60% from the field to rack up 23 points. What's more, Hansen also posted a 63% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Jens Hansen was another key player, going 5-for-10 en route to 14 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Viborg/Hurley challenged Howard two weeks ago. Viborg/Hurley strolled past Howard with points to spare, taking the game 56-40. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Viborg/Hurley pushed their record up to 20-2 with the win, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.4 points over those games. As for Irene/Wakonda, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-12.

Irene/Wakonda took a serious blow against Viborg/Hurley in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 74-45. Can Irene/Wakonda avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
