Softball Recap: Bell County Bobcats vs. Barbourville Tigers

It was a proper cat-fight when Bell County duked it out with Barbourville on Thursday. The Bobcats had just enough and edged out the Tigers 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bobcats have posted against the Tigers since March 22, 2019.

Adyson Scott made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played dating back to last season.

In other batting news, Kenley Foster and Tristan Saylor did most of the damage at the plate: Foster got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Saylor got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Jayda Boateng was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Bell County's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Barbourville, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-8.
