Basketball Recap: Tyler Knights vs. Wheeling Central Catholic Maroon Knights

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Tyler can now relate to. They were beaten by the Wheeling Central Catholic Maroon Knights 82-45 on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 59th, while the Maroon Knights are ranked fourth).

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Katie Grimm, who posted 17 points and five assists. Grimm is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played. Jules Lattea was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and ten rebounds.

Even though they lost, Tyler smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in nine consecutive contests.

Kaitlyn Blake continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Wheeling Central Catholic, dropping a double-double with 35 points and 12 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Seneca Heller, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 17 points and five steals.
