Softball Recap: Taft Comes Up Short

Taft was the 18-11 winner over Santiam Christian when they last played one another back in May of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers fell 8-4 to the Eagles on Monday. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by exactly four runs.

Taft has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Santiam Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.

Coming up, Taft will take on Scio at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Loggers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Santiam Christian, they are taking a road trip to take on Blanchet Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cavaliers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.5 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
