Torrington had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Seymour on Monday. The Raiders blew past the Wildcats 10-3. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Torrington's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Seymour, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-5.

Coincidentally, Torrington and Seymour will both be playing Oxford the next time they take the field. The Raiders will head out to face the Wolverines at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Wildcats will head out to face them at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
