Volleyball Recap: Fort Wayne Canterbury Comes Up Short

After flying high against Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian on Thursday, Fort Wayne Canterbury came back down to earth. The Cavaliers fell 3-1 to the Elkhart Christian Academy Eagles on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cavaliers of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2023.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 24-26, 25-22, 25-19.

Leading Elkhart Christian Academy to victory were Addy Trovatore and Kiara Trovatore. Addy had 11 digs and three aces, while Kiara had 22 assists and eight digs. The dominant performance also gave Addy a new career-high in assists (eight). Myla Hanlon also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Fort Wayne Canterbury has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Elkhart Christian Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-4.

Coming up, Fort Wayne Canterbury will welcome New Haven at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Elkhart Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to take on NorthWood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
