            Volleyball Recap: Mandeville Skippers vs. Covington Lions        
        
		
        
        
            After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against St. Scholastica, Mandeville was happy to have turned things around  on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Covington Lions as they made off with  a  3-0 win. The  victory was a breath of fresh air for the Skippers as it put an end to their three-match losing streak.
 The final score came out to 25-12, 25-14,  25-17.

Mandeville was led to victory by  Alyssa Gaudet and  Julia Marengo.  Gaudet  had ten  digs and two  assists, while  Marengo  had eight  digs and four  aces. Marengo has been hot, having also posted 12 or more  assists the last five times she's  played.
 They weren't the only good servers: Mandeville  was lethal from the service line and  finished the match with ten  aces. They are 5-1 when  they serve at least ten aces.
Mandeville now  has a winning record of 15-14. As for Covington,  the  defeat snapped their winning streak at four matches  and leaves them with a 12-22 record.
 We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Mandeville is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Fontainebleau  at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Meanwhile, Covington will  face off against  rival Hammond  at 5:45  p.m.  on Wednesday.
