It was a good run, but Waverly-Shell Rock unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Caledonia Warriors by a score of 64-61. While losing is never fun, the Go-Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 99th in Iowa, while the Warriors are ranked 24th in Minnesota).

Waverly-Shell Rock's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Caledonia, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

When Waverly-Shell Rock and Caledonia next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Waverly-Shell Rock will try to stop Center Point-Urbana's five-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Similarly, Caledonia will face off against West Salem and their five-game winning streak at 6:30 p.m. on December 28th.
