Preview: Kennedy Commanders vs. Regis Groff Fusion
The Kennedy Commanders will be playing at home against the Regis Groff Fusion at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Kennedy is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
Kennedy struggled with assists on Wednesday (Northfield had 19 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Kennedy was beaten by Northfield 113-49. Kennedy has struggled against Northfield recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Kennedy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Noah Herrera, who scored four points along with six rebounds and two steals, and Quinn Padilla who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Regis Groff's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They lost to Aurora Central on the road by a decisive 83-68 margin. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Kennedy has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season. As for Regis Groff, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.
Everything went Kennedy's way against Regis Groff in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as Kennedy made off with a 59-38 win. Will Kennedy repeat their success, or does Regis Groff have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
