Basketball Recap: DSST: Cedar Comes Up Short + How To Watch

DSST: Cedar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 58-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Battle Mountain Huskies.

Loss or not, DSST: Cedar got some senior leadership from Tristin Aragon and Same Mehari. Aragon posted 12 points and eight boards, while Mehari almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 rebounds set a new season-high mark for Mehari.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Battle Mountain to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jackson Wansley, who earned 14 points. Another player making a difference was Kai Tipton, who had 13 points.

DSST: Cedar's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Battle Mountain, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, DSST: Cedar and KIPP Denver Collegiate will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:30 p.m. on January 6, 2026. As for Battle Mountain, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 54-44 loss against Rifle on the 16th.
