Baseball Recap: Jefferson Extends Winning Streak to Three

Jefferson came out on top against Glenwood on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fourth inning. The Yellowjackets were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Rams. The game was the first time the Yellowjackets have beaten the Rams on their field since June 26, 2018.

The team relied heavily on Nate Anderson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Jefferson's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 5-1 (and 8-26 when he doesn't). Kendall Bell was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Jefferson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win was the third in a row for Jefferson, bringing their record up to 13-27. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Glenwood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-19.
