Flag Football Recap: Myah Martinez Key Part of Team Effort in Mustangs Win

Costa Mesa had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 19-6 win over the Katella Knights on Thursday. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 20-0 victory the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Costa Mesa got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Myah Martinez out in front who picked up 97 receiving yards and a pair of scores. What's more, Martinez posted two receiving touchdowns, the most she's had over her last three games.

Costa Mesa didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Liby Kotler and Kassandra Ramirez.

Costa Mesa's record is now 9-6. As for Katella, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Costa Mesa didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 31-12 victory against Ocean View on the 6th. As for Katella, they have also already played their next game, a 12-6 defeat against Godinez Fundamental on the 6th.
