Basketball Recap: Nease Panthers vs. Stanton Blue Devils
The Nease Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Stanton 69-29 at home. Nease has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Nease found their leader in underclassman Audrey Rollins, who scored 15 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Shruthika Kondabrolu, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Stanton's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aiyanna Smiley, who scored seven points.
Nease has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season. As for Stanton, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-10.
Nease and the Falcons will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Menendez focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday. As for Stanton, they will be playing at home against the Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sandalwood has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 12.
