Volleyball Recap: Maxwell Comes Up Short

Maxwell lost against Overton back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wildcats took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.

While Maxwell ultimately came up short, they really made Overton work, particularly in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 18-25, 25-19, 25-23.

When it comes to explaining why Maxwell lost, don't look at Madelynn Nelson. Despite the final result, she had 17 digs and two assists. Another player making a difference was Ellys Gosnell, who had ten digs.

Maxwell's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Overton, the win keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Maxwell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Hyannis on the 20th. As for Overton, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Wilcox-Hildreth on the 18th.
