Football Recap: Ben Lomond Takes a Loss

Ben Lomond fell victim to Union and their airtight defense on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 50-0 loss at the hands of the Cougars. The Scots have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Tristan Jessop threw for 92 yards on ten of 17 attempts. Gavin Rivera was his top target, picking up 58 receiving yards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Union to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gannon Labrum, who threw for 89 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Labrum's passing game has become a key predictor of the Cougars' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-5 otherwise.

Ben Lomond's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Union, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-5.

Ben Lomond didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 37-6 defeat against Ogden on the 15th. As for Union, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 43-7 loss against Grantsville on the 15th.
